Lambda Instruments was founded with the mission to develop innovative optical fiber-based solutions for next-generation high-power fiber optic lasers, amplifiers, and sensor systems.
Lambda Instruments specializes in research and development of optical fiber based sensors. Current projects include development of a high temperature strain gauge, a heat flux sensor for use in harsh environments such as on engine turbine blades, and a small footprint humidity sensor.
Lambda's state-of-the-art R&D facility includes a class 1000 clean room, equipment for manufacturing and evaluating fiber gratings, production space for assembling and testing high-power double-cladding fiber amplifiers, a machine shop, as well as a host of opto-electronics test and measurement equipment including tunable fiber lasers, optical spectrum analyzers, wavemeters, environmental test chambers, submicron fiber alignment stations, and other general instrumentation required for the development of next generation lightwave devices.
